BARANA CHILDREN’S CHARITY was founded by Mr. Barabiraho Etienne and his wife Ann Githinji in 2020. Mr. Etienne was born in Burundi and previously worked for total of ten years with UNHCR , CARITAS, IRC, and AFRICARE providing social services to refugees in DRC Congo and Tanzania. Mr. Etienne is fluent in ten African languages and French. Ann Githinji (Anna) was born in Kenya and has twenty years of experience in providing social support to African refugees resettled in the U.S. Anna is fluent in two African languages and English. Janet Githinji was born in Kenya and has over fifteen years of experience working as a community service relations manager in Kenya. Janet is fluent in two African languages and English.
